The Mar Menor is connected to the Mediterranean by four channels, which prevent the lagoon from drying out through evaporation. The largest channel, El Estacio is the only navigable waterway for boats wishing to visit both seas.  Boat trips, Charters and watersports are available from the many marinas surrounding the Mar Menor and the Mediterranean coast.
